Lemoyne
Lemoyne is Lake McConaughy's charming little beach town with some fascinating history. "The Town Under The Lake?" Let us explain! The foundations of the original community of Lemoyne now lie beneath the lake. All its businesses and homes were relocated or torn down during the building of Kingsley Dam prior to its competition in 1941. During a few periods of drought and low water levels over the years, those original foundations have become visible again. Usually though, they're just part of the big underwater world of Lake Mac's population of trophy fish.
Today, Lemoyne is home to several thriving businesses that serve visitors to Lake McConaughy and a community of seasonal and year-round residents who love living so close to those gorgeous sandy beaches.
